There are over 35,000,000 polio survivors in India, many with crippling limb deformities. Possession of a tricyle provides them with mobility and the possibility to earn a living. All over India, tricycles are used innovatively as tea shops, telephone booths and small stores.

New tricycles manufactured by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corp. of India are given free of charge by the Jagadguru Kripalu Charitable Hospitals to those in need. The success of this giving depends on the generosity of contributors. Each tricycle costs approximately $150 US.
