Bhakti Yoga India Retreat Tour
Tour Guides
The guides for the 2009 Bhakti Yoga Retreat Tour have over 40 years combined experience
traveling and living in Northern India.
Siddheshvari Devi is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi
and English, and has led groups to India for the last 22 years. Born in the state
of Punjab in Northern India, she spent her formative years in Canada, graduating from
York University in Toronto with a degree in linguistics. Her spiritual quest
led her to Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj from whom she directly learned the intricate mysteries
of the Vedas and other scriptures. She was given the service of teaching
Shri Maharaj Ji's message in the West, which she has been doing since 1987.
Siddeshvari Devi is also the founder of
Radha Madhav Society, a spiritual, educational and charitable
non-profit organization based in the U.S., Canada and Trinidad.
With a background that includes an upbringing in both the east and west, Siddheshvari Devi
has an inherent understanding of both cultures. She is a vibrant speaker, a melodious kirtan
singer, and an extremely approachable teacher who inspires adults, teens and children alike.
Nikhileshwari Devi was born in Germany and raised and educated in the
heartland of the United States. Fluent in English and Spanish, she has been a practitioner
of Hinduism for the last 35 years and a teacher for the last 20 years.
Her lifelong search for truth led her to India, where she met Jagadguru Shri
Kripalu Ji Maharaj. Deeply inspired by his teachings and delighted to have found
an authentic and guided spiritual path, this
determined her future direction.
In 1991 she became one of the first western women
to receive ordination in the raganuga tradition of Hinduism.
Nikhileshwari Devi is particularly interested in sharing with others how the
eternal truths of Hindu dharma could be experienced and practiced in everyday life.
Along with other educational projects, she has recently created a website on Bhakti Yoga Meditation designed to help
make this spiritual teaching more accessible and understandable.
With a leadership style characterized by personal warmth, humor and a sense of adventure,
she brings a natural enthusiasm to our inner and outer exploration of the holy places of Braj.
